All you need to know about:Rapidshare-part1

Rapidshare-which describes itself as the "The future of 1-Click Webhosting" is the most preferred uploading site by millions of uploaders(including me).So why people uplaod in this warez hell??here is what they say

"A nearly endless scalable system has been designed with more than 1680 Terabytes of space and 90 Gigabit/s of internet-bandwidth have been set-up".

wow who would not fall far this,and upto to certain extent this is true,i personally tried their services and am very satisfied.When i download from rapidshare i get full speed(mine is a 512kbbs)of abt 60kb/s.

Ok that ought to do for the introduction,so whats are the benefits of rapidshare??

so as the table shows the benefits of going premium-:

* You can download many files at once(which is not possible in case of a free user)

* You can use Download accelerators such as DAP to download and Resume downloads

* When you go premium you need not wait between files,which you must when you are a free user(waiting time is abt 60 files for 100mb you download).

The thing that makes rapidshare special is that about 45% of the files are there in their servers ,so people don't hesitate to go premium,especially when you get thousand of movies and millions of $ worth softwares for spending just $10(one month account cost).

So i cant buy an account its too costly!what are the alternatives??
Rapidshare has a feature called collector's zone(more will be explained about this in my next post).Non-Premium users can subscribe to this collectors zone for free and upload their files(as i'm doing right now).When a free users Download the files you have uploaded you get 1-Premium point. So you continiously upload files and get points,when you reach 10000 points Rapidshare gives an option of exchanging these 10000 points for a month's premium account.This is the best offer for the free users(also an way where rapidshare makes sure users use only their servers, just another business trick).so you can enjoy premium previliges for a month via this scheme for free.

The files uploaded to Rapidshare are mainly warez( (i)legal s/w,movies ect..)so how do they protect themselves from law??

One-Click uplaoders such as rapidshare escape from these pits by quoting a statement in their "IMPRINT" saying that
"We have no control or knowledge of the files being uploaded by the users.llegal files will be deleted as soon as we get notice about them. We will also put them on an internal black-list so they can't be uploaded again."

this is what they say but soon after a file is deleted a new one arises .

Every person working in Rapidshare knows that their servers are full of Illegal content(that is what they want even though they act as if they have no idea)and even the Anti-Piracy officials know about these ,but they are powerless to do anything due to this IMPRINT statements.The maximum they can do is report some links and rapidshare would delete them,but within a matter of few seconds new one will arise.So this is an never ending process and as long as there is warez available and uploaders to upload them Rapidshare will live for ever!!
